Bonjour,

 

Jeune diplômé du Master Terre et Géoressources de l'université Toulouse III, je suis actuellement à la recherche d'un emploi. Au cours de mes études je me suis spécialisé en paléoenvironnement, paléontologie, sédimentologie et stratigraphie.

Je souhaite trouver un poste de conservateur, ou un poste similaire, dans un musée de paléontologie et/ou minéralogie.

Bonjour, il y aurai le musée de mineralogie de Paris; de Starsbourg et aussi dans les vosges.Sinon en France je ne vois pas d'autres musées.

Description

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for a Geological Collections Assistant to join the Research Development and Support Team. The BAS Geological Collections are one of the largest collections of Antarctic rocks and fossils in the world. The unique and irreplaceable collections contain over 200,000 specimens, collected primarily from Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic islands over the last 75 years.

The successful candidate will be assisting the Geological Collections Manager with the review of current holdings, archiving of samples and entering data onto the Geological collections database, and to implement new health and safety measures.

The successful candidate will need previous experience working in a laboratory, confident and flexible to work with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills to work in a small team is a must!

Purpose

To assist the Geological Collections Manager with rationalising specimen storage, cataloguing and archiving specimens, and maintaining the Geological Collections Database. To assist with other laboratory duties as required.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences

Duties

  • Assist with geological specimen archiving and storage.
  • Update and maintain the digital Geological Collections Database.
  • Assist with laboratory maintenance (as required).
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the Director of BAS.
